In 1942, Augusta Van Poecke, mother of Roger and Jacques, was sent to Wolfsburg, Germany to carry out forced labour. There she meets the very attractive Corsican named Marcel Dadonne. Marcel is a musician in the band of Tino Rossi. They fall in love and have a baby, a boy named Roger. At the end of WWII, they leave Germany and head for Paris. In Paris, their second baby Jacqueline is born on March 20th 1946. Shortly after the birth of Jacqueline, Augusta must return to Belgium. Most likely, her passport had expired. Although Augusta often speaks of her lost love Marcel, she never mentions the daughter she had to leave behind. Peoplefinderworldwide found...
Jacqueline was found back in Toulouse, Southern France. She is married and works as a nurse in an operating room. She is very happy and relieved to hear that her brothers have been looking for her. In the sixties, she also tried to trace her Belgian family…but the search was not a success. She is looking forward to finally meet and get to know her brothers.
Jacques: “I am so relieved that the search for our unknown sister finally became a success. For years and years we have been trying to find her, we contacted official administrations, we wrote letters to so many people for help… I was reluctant to contact an internet agency, because you never know if you can trust them, especially with personal and emotional matters, but fortunately, my fears were without any foundation. Also the costs are little compared to finding your family back. Thank you so much, without you we would never have succeeded!! |
