From a child, Esther has been very occupied with her adoption. I was sixteen years of age and working in Santa Cruz when I got unwanted pregnant. My family was not too happy with all this. When Esther was 4 years old, I could get a job teaching. However, I had to walk seven hours to the school. It was impossible to take Esther with me every time and that is why I brought her to my mother. When I arrived back home, a couple of weeks later, Esther had gone…After quite a quarrel with my mother, I ran to the orphanage to get my daughter back. But it was too late, they told me that my little daughter was taken abroad.
Meanwhile Myriam is 41 and still teaching at a little school, together with her husband who is the principle. Three times a week, a truck makes the journey to this village ‘Mijma’, at 4000 metres altitude in the centre of the Andes . Myriam and her family can not wait to meet Esther.
